Waterproof Flexible LED Strip-Light Questions
How do I mount my LED strip lights?
We recommend using 100% RTV Silicone (Plash 2100) to fully embed the strip. For additional support, use aluminum channels or mounting clamps. Always follow the product manual for best results and warranty coverage. The important item to remeber is that you do not want the light or the power wire entering the light to be able to move.
What does IP68 mean?
Highest protection rating: dust tight and protected against long submersion in water (up to 18 ft. for 30+ minutes).
How long are your Waterproof LED Flexible Light-Strips?
Sizes range from 1ft to 32ft depending on color and voltage. Custom lengths available.
What is the difference between RGB and RGBW, RGBWW, RGB-CCT?
RGB = Red/Green/Blue. RGBW adds White LED. RGBWW means warm white. RGB-CCT allows color temperature control (3000K–6000K).
How can I make my RGB/RGBW colors change?
You need a compatible RGB/RGBW Controller.
Are your Waterproof Flexible Light-Strips dimmable?
Yes, using our Bluetooth RGBW controller or a dimming switch.
How many lights can you put on your RGB Controller?
Each RGB/RGBW controller handles different amounts. Our Plash controller (BT-60) can handle more than most RGB/RGBW controllers at 200W total/ 5A per channel. This is typically about 55 linear feet of light strips on one controller when using 12V lights. If you need to add more lights to a controller than it is rated for then you must add an RGB/RGBW amplifier or another controller. Adding an amplifier keeps the lights all synced together where adding another controller creates a new zone.
What is Warm White?
2700K–3000K – yellowish tint similar to halogen bulbs.
What is Cool White?
5000K–6000K – pure white with slight blue tint.
Are your LED Flexible Light-Strips cuttable?
Yes, you can cut them every 2 inches or so depending on the model and voltage. Cutting does not void the warranty as long as you seal the cut end properly.
LED Light Bar Questions
Where is the best place to mount my Light Bar?
Boats: Casting platform, roof/T-top, or grab rail. Vehicles: Front bumper or grill.
What size light bar do I need for my boat?
19ft or shorter: 10"-12". 20-26ft: 20". 27ft+: 30". You can always go larger. Call our tech line for recommendations.
How bright/far do your light bars shine?
Varies by model. Full specs are listed on each product page. Example: Our 20" SRX2 shines 500 yards of direct light. Double this distance for indirect light such as reflecting of channel markers.
What makes a better light bar?
More than just lumens. Quality LEDs, efficient reflectors, precision lenses, and durability matter most. For saltwater boat corrosion is a major concern. That is why we chrome coat all of our hardware to isolate the disimilar metals and the reason that we designed and engineered carbon fiber marine lighting.
Other Questions
Are your lights legal for on-road use?
